Lunch in The Sea Room, Kellys Hotel, Rosslare
Wednesday 17th June 2026
At our Annual General Meeting, members suggested that we look at using the great facility of “free transport” for our outings; and we did just that. In the month of June, our members travelled to Co Wexford to enjoy a delicious lunch of fresh produce from Kelly’s Kitchen Garden in The Sea Rooms, Smokehouse of Kelly’s Hotel. This outing was slightly different than normal but as with all outings the contact and camaraderie with fellow members was present and all important.
We took the train from Connolly Station, and meandered down the breathtaking coast through Dun Laoghaire, Bray, Greystones, Wicklow, and Arklow before heading slightly inwards to the banks of the Slaney River in Enniscorthy, and followed this gentle path to the sea. We arrived in Rosslare Strand at 12:30 pm. A courtesy coach was waiting to pick us up and bring us to the hotel. Those agile members who wished to stretch their legs, took the short and very enjoyable walk to the hotel.
This was a different kind of trip to the usual and was very successful. It is safe to say that we plan to do more trips like this in the future. The whole experience was wonderful and the hospitality second to none. The Sea Rooms at Kelly’s Resort Hotel was a wonderful dining experience which placed fire cooking, exceptional ingredients and generous sharing plates at the heart of the dining experience, while maintaining the quality and warmth; which our members can attest to.
