“Blue Moon”

National Concert Hall – Lunchtime Concert

Friday 6th November 2026

For our November event, FTRA members and guests will attend a concert of the songs of Rodgers and Hart, presented by Jim Doherty with his trio, Dave Redmond, bass, and Myles Drennan, drums, with special guest singer, Honor Heffernan.

The programme is not available to us yet, but – besides the evergreen Blue Moon – Rodgers and Hart created 28 stage musicals and over 500 songs. Their work is known for witty, clever and sophisticated lyrics matched with lush, memorable melodies. These include Manhattan, My Heart Stood Still, With a Song in my Heart, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, My Funny Valentine, The Lady is a Tramp, Falling in Love with Love – and many more.

Timetable:

The concert (in the John Field Room of the NCH) starts promptly at 1.05pm. Seats are unreserved, and are on a first-come-first-served basis. You may collect your tickets on the way in. A designated committee member will be there from 12.00pm. Lunch will follow at the end of the concert in the NCH’s Iveagh Room.

Cost €55.00 for Members and €60.00 for Day Members (Guests)

This includes attendance at the concert, and a private two-course lunch in the NCH’s Iveagh Room. Please advise when booking if you or your guest have any special dietary requirements. (NB – Wine and drinks are at own expense.).
